History
ALFA carbonate is a privately owned family business, specialized in Mining, Manufacturing and Exporting calcium carbonate powder (GCC) with high standard quality.
Al Faltas family is the pioneer of the calcium carbonate manufacturing in Egypt.
The first plant was established in 1955 by the late Sami Faltas, expanded by his son the late Edward Sami Faltas and now managed by Dr. ‘Ehab’ Edward Faltas (CEO of Alfa carbonate).
Those long years of experience have allowed Alfa to be born big.
Mines
Egypt is well known of its pure and bright limestone. El Minya region is home to one of the world largest and highest quality limestone deposits
Alfa mines are of the purest formations in which brightness levels reaches 98% and CaCO3 content 99.6%
Our professional team of chemists and geologists have insured a full control of our raw material that provides our product a whiteness consistency that enables us to serve premium clients in a wide range of applications
The Plant
Alfa has provided a primary crusher on site to support the full control of the raw material specs.
Alfa plant is of the latest German technology Hosokawa Alpine, which offers a wide range of products from Alfa 45 d97 (45 microns) up to Alfa 70 d97 (5 microns).
We produce 10k tons per month of normal calcium carbonated milled powder, and we are in process of adding a new coating line to produce another 10k tons of coated calcium carbonate powder, to achieve 20k tons of both coated and uncoated powder by end 2018.
Our plant located in 10th of Ramadan area provides a privilege to our sales team, as it is near to most of the local clients, also it is midpoint for all ports (sokhna, Alexandria, port said port said east SCCT).

Our laboratory is equipped with Malvern Mastersizer 3000 and data color ELREPHO.
We are ISO 9001 certified.
